Giving gifts with the intention of sadaqah

Q: If I give my grand children or my children gifts, can I make the intention for sadaqah?

Bismillaah

A: Helping your grandchildren is in itself a great reward. Hence, you do not have to make the niyyat of sadaqah. Give them the gift with mahabbat; your reward will be even greater than normal sadaqah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
