Question:

I am working in UberEats. My question is, I do not deliberately deliver pork and alcohol but at times, KFC or McDonalds orders contain non-zabīā beef or chicken, is my income alāl? I am not the direct contact with the customer and the food company. I am only a 3rd party driver.

Answer:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Jazāk Allāh Khayr/ Thank you for contacting Mathābah Institute.

The earning from UberEats, as a driver is alāl (permissible). Driving to transport meals from restaurants to clients is acceptable, since there is nothing questionable about the act of driving itself. In most cases, the driver does not even know what kind of food item one is delivering. The Ḥanafī position is that manufacturing wine etc. is forbidden but not driving or transporting such items. – (See: Rad Al-Muḥtār, Vol 6, Page 391, Dār Al-Fikr[1])

Only Allāh knows best.
