Translating the Holy Quran in a poetic style

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

What is the ruling with regards to translating the Holy Quran in a poetic style? Is this permissible?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Because a proper translation cannot be derived from a poetic translation of the Quran (due to consideration being given mostly to poetic structure), and because it also a form of disrespect to the Holy Quran, it is not permissible to translate the Holy Quran in a poetic style. This should be avoided.
And Allah knows best.
