I work on-set for shooting films and photography. Is this job Haram?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

I work on-set for shooting films and photography. Is this job Halal or Haram?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Clarification: What do you mean by “on-set”?
Reply: It means setting up fake walls, painting, setting up furniture and decoration for photography and recording/shooting T.V commercials.
Answer: If the question’s work includes the mentioned tasks (i.e. setting up fake walls, painting, setting up furniture and decoration), then even though this job and its income is Halal, it may also be a means of assisting in sin. Hence, it will be better for the questioner to find employment elsewhere.
