If a patient due to his illness is unable to fast, is sadaqa wajib on him?

If a patient due to his illness is unable to observe fasting and also there is no hope of recovery, does Sadaqa become Wajib upon him or not?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

If there is no hope of survival of the patient and nor is he capable of observing Fast, it is Wajib upon him to give in compensation of each day, one Sadaqa e Fitr which is 1.75 Ser wheat or 2 Ser to be safer; or the price thereof among the Needy and the Poor.
