I need to know about giving the sawab of reciting Quraan

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

I need to know about giving the sawab of reciting quraan to others mostly our ancestors who have passed away. I have been told that when we end the whole quraan we are supposed to send the sawab to our elders(not alive) term mostly called as “quraan bakshna” but Iam not getting sure of it. I had thought that one who does the deed gets the reward. All we can do is to pray for maghfirat of our elders but we cant give them the reward for what they have not done. Please clarify. I’LL be great full.

In the light of the commentary of the following Ayath and of the Ahadees e Mubaraka it is correct and permissible beyond doubt to grant the reward of our good deeds to a second person. The reward of the good deed reaches to the one who is intended for and this is the view of the majority of the Ulamas as well.
