Saying ‘Fi amanillah’ when bidding farewell

I have heard some people say ‘Fi Amanillah’ when they bidding farewell. Does this come in any Hadith?

Answer

I have not come across this du’a to recite when bidding farewell.

However, one may recite this du’a without deeming it Sunnah, as the meaning is excellent.

The meaning is ‘[Go] in the protection of Allah Ta’ala.’

See the Sunnah du’as to recite when bidding farewell here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
