What do you mean by: Good/reliable?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

When you say the chain for a certain Hadith is ‘reliable’ or ‘good’ – does this mean it’s Hasan or authentic?

Answer

These are translations of technical terms.

Both these terms refer to acceptable (maqbul) Hadiths.

Maqbul (accepted) Hadiths are those that are not weak (da’if) and vary between Sahih (which we usually translate as: authentic) and hasan (which we usually translate as: sound)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
