Wearing pants while sitting

Is there any narration which states it is Sunnah to put on one’s pants while sitting? In other words, is it against the Sunnah to stand and wear pants?

Answer

‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) states that there is no [clear] Hadith which proves that one should wear pants while sitting.

However, some Scholars have mentioned that a person should wear his pants while sitting. ‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) states that this could be derived via analogy of the Hadith wherein Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) prohibited wearing one’s shoes while standing.
