Just as you treat others so shall you be treated

Is the following a Hadith?

‘Kama tadinu tudan’ (Just as you treat others so shall you be treated)

Answer

Imam ‘Abdur Razzaq As San’ani (rahimahullah) has recorded this as part of a lengthier narration on the authority of Abu Qilabah (rahimahullah), a Tabi’i (mursalan) as a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam).

(Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 20262)

Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has declared the chain of narrators reliable (mursalun rijaluhu thiqat).

(Fathul Bari, before Hadith: 4474)

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has also recorded this narration from Imam ‘Abdur Razzaq. This version is reported as the statements of Sayyiduna Abud Darda (mawqufan) and not as a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). However there is non continuity in this chain as Abu Qilabah (rahimahullah) did not meet Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Az Zuhd, pg. 117, Hadith: 765)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
