After making wudu if you pray Bismillahi Walhamdu Lillah the guarding angels (who record your deeds) will go on writing pious deeds to your credit.
Is this true?
Answer:
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:
O Abu Hurayrah! When you (intend to) make wudu, then say Bismillahi wal hamdulillah, for the guarding angels will continue writing rewards until you break that wudu.
(Al-Mu’jamus Saghir, vol.1 pg.73)
‘Allamah Haithami (rahimahullah) has classified the chain as sound (hasan)
(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol.1 pg.220- Chapter of saying bismillah at the time of wudu. Also see: Ihkamul Qantarah of Shaykh ‘Abdul Hayy Lakhnawi, pg.35 and Shaykh ‘Abdul Fattah Abu Ghuddah’s footnotes on al-Masnu’, pg.211.- rahimallahul jami’)
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
