Is handshaking, embracing or hugging before or after Eid and Jumuah a bidah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
When I was discussing this with one of my friend, he said that musafaha (handshake), muanaqah (embrace) and hugging before or after Eid and jumuah is a bidah.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1511/923/H=1432)

As per the Shariah, musafaha (handshaking) and muanaqa (hugging) is not specified after Eid and Jumuah. Your friend is right. It is mentioned in Fatawa Shami etc that the Rawafizi (Shias) innovated musafaha after salah.
