Should I fast during Ramadan if I stopped bleeding after 20 days of delivery?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I have stopped bleeding after 20 days of my delivery. Should I wait till 40th day or start fasting before that in coming Ramadan? Please advise.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 1049/824/D=09/1435)

The maximum period of nifas (postpartum period) which comes after child birth is forty days. It is fardh to make ghusl and start offering salah if the blood stops before forty days. So in the question mentioned above you should not wait till forty days rather you should start offering salah after the blood stops and start keep fast of Ramadan.
