Problematic incidents in Fazail e Amal

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

My Questions:

1. Fazail e Amal, Fazail e Sadakat and Fazail e Hajj there are some incidents described:

– Asking something from Prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam

– Dianr rahmatullahi alaihi giving the promise of Jannah instead of sadakah only for one person

2. Fazail e Amal, Fazail e Sadakat and Fazail e Hajj there are hadith without hadith source reference and for this reason we should not read it.

Base on this some person opposing Tabligh and saying this all are SHIRK E AKBAR.

Please provide us the proper guide from Quran and Sunnah so that we can follow the right path.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1). Please enquire the following from the person in reference:

  • Give exact reference of the incident(s), stories, ahadith, etc. in Fadā’il Al A‘māl which are “problematic.”
  • Explain how these incidents/ahadith are problematic and constitute shirk.

2). Many and most of the ahadith in Fadā’il Al A‘māl do have references. Those that do not have references are generally quoted from reliable sources. The reason for not mentioning references at times is due to the hadith being well-known. Hence, the author, Hazrat Mawlana Zakariyya Kandhlawi Rahimahullah, did not feel it necessary to mention the references at times. Furthermore, the book was authored for the general masses and not scholars. Hence, the focus was not on scholarly discussions, such as the chain of narrators, etc.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
