Phrases with Translation

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

What are the little things (or phrases) you can do or say that can earn the pleasure of Allah (SWT)?

For example, I hear saying Alhamdulillah or Subhanallah constantly is something that pleases Allah.

Are there any other phrases I can say and can you give me the translation so I can understand what I

am saying? Much appreciated!

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The small phrases you refer to may be small in words but they are most valuable in the sight of Allah. Such phrases express ones belief and trust in Allah. They are also a great Zikr with great rewards. It comes in one Hadith:

وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ تَمْلَأُ الْمِيزَانَ: وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ تَمْلَآنِ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ

‘(The reward of) Alhamdulillah will fill the scales (on the Day of Judgment) and (the reward of) Subhanallah and Allahu Akbar and Lailah illAllahu Wallahu Akbar fills the space between the skies and the Earth.’

This is only one of the many virtues attached to these type of phrases. Most importantly, these phrases help to spiritually uplift oneself. Hereunder are some phrases which should be part of a Muslims life:
