Are Sins Commited Openly Unforgivable?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam

Question: Asalam alaikum,

Someone told me that those who have sinned openly will never be forgiven.

Is it true? How can to repent from these kind of sins?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

Repentance wipes away the sin and its traces. [see: A Reader on Tawba (Repentance)]

Repentance is fulfilled by leaving the sin, having remorse for having committed the sin, and resolving never to return to it.

Allah Most High is the All-Merciful, and He commands us to never despair in His Mercy.

And Allah alone gives success.

wassalam,
