Lessons & Congregational prayer

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Are sunnipath live events online (or any of sunnipath online classes), which may not be essential for you to attend (due to them not being personally obligitory knowledge but rather to enhance your knowlege of islam) permissible reasons for missing prayer in congregation for men?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

If a lesson relates to beneficial knowledge, then one can miss the congregation at the mosque [Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-Falah]–if one would miss the lesson or a significant part thereof–though one should pray within the recommended time and ideally make arrangements to pray in congregation (such as with a family member) if possible.

And Allah alone gives success.

Faraz Rabbani
