What is the islamic ruling for studying Medicine in the West, as you may be aware of many fitnahs involved whilst practicing and studying medicine

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Question: What is the islamic ruling for studying Medicine in the West, as you may be aware of many fitnahs involved whilst practicing and studying medicine. In regards to Dissection which ive seen on your site previously,
but whilst studying medicine your placed in situations where you have to examine the opposite sex, which is essential during the study.

I believe we need Muslim Health Professionals , taking all into account would it be advisable to study medicine in the west.
if not, what if out of necessity you have to study in the west. ?

If you have any more Fatwas in regards to Medicine and Healthcare studies then please do post.

Answer

Examination of the opposite sex for medical purposes is permissible provided the examination is focused on the required area only. This is based on necessity.

The study of medicine is permissible provided one’s Deen is not compromised in the process.
