Need for fardh ghusl after ear operation

Dear ustaad

Hope you are in good health

I have had a ear operation and have had the need of a fard gusl

The doctors have told me i can have a head shower after a week,i cannot wash the area of the operation

I had a shower washing as much as i could avoiding the operated area

Is my ghusal done or shall i do tayamum

Also what would i do for the rest of my salaat as i can perform wudhu

May Allah grant you complete shifa. Sorry for the delay in reply. You must have recovered by now. But the answer will help someone else.

If it is possible for you to do Masah on the place of operation then it will be necessary to do Masah on that area. If that is not possible, but it is possible for you to do Masah on the plaster or bandage on the operated area then you will have to do Masah on the plaster or bandage. If that is also not possible or may damage the plaster or bandage, then you may leave that area out and your Ghusl will be complete.

After that you should perform Wudhu normally for Salah.

وَإِنْ كَانَ بِهِ جُدَرِيٌّ أَوْ جِرَاحَاتٌ يُعْتَبَرُ الْأَكْثَرُ مُحْدِثًا كَانَ أَوْ جُنُبًا فَفِي الْجَنَابَةِ يُعْتَبَرُ أَكْثَرُ الْبَدَنِ وَفِي الْحَدَثِ يُعْتَبَرُ أَكْثَرُ أَعْضَاءِ الْوُضُوءِ فَإِنْ كَانَ الْأَكْثَرُ صَحِيحًا وَالْأَقَلُّ جَرِيحًا يُغْسَلُ الصَّحِيحُ وَيُمْسَحُ عَلَى الْجَرِيحِ إنْ أَمْكَنَهُ وَإِنْ لَمْ يُمْكِنْهُ الْمَسْحُ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْجَبَائِرِ أَوْ فَوْقَ الْخِرْقَةِ وَلَا يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْغُسْلِ وَالتَّيَمُّمِ. (Hindiyyah 1/28)

وَذَكَرَ الْجَلَّابِيُّ فِي كِتَابِ الصَّلَاةِ لَهُ أَنَّ مَنْ بِهِ وَجَعٌ فِي رَأْسِهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ مَعَهُ مَسْحَهُ يَسْقُطُ فَرْضُ الْمَسْحِ فِي حَقِّهِ .
