Is My Ritual Bath Valid despite Finding Some Substance on My Pubic Hair?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam

Question: Assalamu alaikum,

After doing ghusl, I noticed that some crusty substance was still attached to some hairs around the pubic region. I think it is dried sperm. Is my ghusl valid and the filth removed in this case?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

If water reaches your entire body, your ritual bath (ghusl) is valid.

And if some filth remains on your body, you would remove it and wash that particular area, without performing the entire ghusl again.

Ignore misgivings and investigation. [see: A Reader on Waswasa (Baseless Misgivings)]

And see: The Ritual Bath (ghusl): Obligatory, Recommended, and Disliked Acts

And Allah alone gives success.

wassalam,
