Assalamu alaykum

In the name of Allah the Inspirer of truth

The Heavenly Ornaments [Beheshti Zewar] is definitely a reliable book on Hanafi Fiqh. The English translation (by Maulana Mohammady, South Africa, available from www.al-rashad.com) can be considered the most accessible and detailed book on the Hanafi school at present.

It does include many other subjects and some details that may not be considered useful in the West but that does not reduce the overall benefit of the book. One can ignore the details that relate to customs of the subcontinent and study the extensive juridical rulings contained in it. Many scholars have been known to refer to the manual for quick answers.

And Allah knows best.

Wassalam

Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf
