Bismihi Ta’ala

There are a few conditions that must be met for the performance of Jumu’ah prayers. The condition in question is called ‘Izn Aam’ which means general permission, ie, everybody is allowed to attend.

The Ulamaa have defined ‘Izn Aam’ in the following manner: Izn Aam means that the people within that building have general permission to attend the prayer.

So in the case of a jail, Jumu’ah prayers will be permissible. Although outsiders are not allowed to attend, but the insiders are not restricted.

And Allah knows best.
