Can an old person make decisions regarding his belongings?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it true that a person above 80 years old cannot make decisions about his property and now that property belongs to his heirs.

Bismillaah

A: No. If he is in the normal state of mind and he is not in his final illness then he has the right to make decisions.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
