Ownership of goods if payment is not made

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: A supplier sold fabric to a customer and delivered it to him. The fabric has not been paid for by the customer and it is highly unlikely that the customer is in a position to pay due to his severe financial debts. Do the goods belong to the supplier or customer??

Bismillaah

A: After the goods are sold to the customer it will belong to the customer.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
