Dealing with Waswasa as a Muslim: Overcoming Fear and Doubt

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am very afraid, I know this is waswasa but I can’t control my feeling. I am Muslim and these kind of waswasa coming to me. Actually I was filling some form on the internet and they asked me what is your pets name. Suddenly inside it came Allah, astagfirulla. I am just confused and I know I didn’t utter it but my soul and my heart just got an attack. Then I thought maybe I am so bad that these waswasa coming and then again start thinking. Then these words again start repeating and now I am thinking that this is my own thoughts or shaitan? I can’t say to anyone because I am a Muslim and how can I say such words. I am just getting doubt too whether I uttered it or not but I am confident that I didn’t hear it but I heard inside like waswasa.

Bismillaah

A: Do not pay attention to these stray thoughts. Recite Kalimah Tayyibah and

لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْم

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
