My Mum says it is not permisable to leave out empty dishes, bowl etc curses descend at night and collect in them. Is this true?

Answer:

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘Cover your dishes at night even by at least placing a stick across them.’ (Bukhari)
