How often should sexual intercourse be performed? In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful. Answer Generally speaking, sexual intercourse with one’s wife is allowed at all times unless there is some other reason of prohibition like the woman being in the state of menstruation, post natal bleeding etc… How often it should be performed depends upon each individual and the willingness of the partner. Some scholars have said that it is not commendable to engage in sexual intercourse with the wife on the first, middle and last dates of the lunar month. It is preferable to perform it on Thursday night. A young husband should cohabit with his wife once in four days and gradually to once a week and whenever either partner feels a strong urge.
