Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani
I have read a notice on a mosque board that it is waajib for the feet of male worshippers to touch the ground during sajdah in such a way that at least three toes of each foot must be curled facing the Qiblah.
The reference used is Fataawa Aalamgeeri.
1. I follow the Hanafi Mazhab. Does the above rule apply to me.?
2. What happens to the Salaah of a person that is completely neglectful of the above rule.? Should the Salaah be repeated.?
It is my understanding that if a Waajib act of Salaah is missed and is not rectified with Sajdah-e-Sahw then that Salaah should be repeated. Is this the correct understanding.?
Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,
I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.
The relied upon position in the Hanafi school is that pointing the bottom of the toes towards the Qibla is a confirmed sunna but not wajib.
