I divorced my wife 3. Is marriage to my wife permissible in any of the Madhabs without the need of getting a 3rd person to consumate the marriage?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

Assalamu Alaikum Shaykh  I have question which is bugging me.

I divorced my wife 3 times and I am well aware that I can no longer be with her unless she gets married and divorced.  What I did was wrong and stupid and I extremely regret, I know I can’t bend the shariah but wanted to ask the options according to the 4 schools of fiqh – I adhere to the Hanafi school.

The 1st divorce was uttered in front of my wife and the other 2 I said to myself with no witnessess.

1) Option if I get my ex-wife married to a friend who than comsumates the marraige and divorces her – I understand that as long as this is not agreed or written into the nikah contract it is permissible and actually deemed praiseworthy on the part of the friend who consumates the marriage. Than he subsequently divorces her paving the way for me to marriage

2) Is there any other of the 3 madhabs a marraige permissible without the need of getting a 3rd person to consumate the marriage with my ex wife and than me marrying ?

Jazakallah khairun for your time

Answer

You have provided more tha half the answer in your question. There is a consensus among all 4 Madhahib on this masala, that without consummating the marriage she will not be allowed to return to the first husband.
