Assalamu alaikum Mufti Sab,
I would like to know the Islamic Ruling about mutual masturbation with one’s spouse and coitus interruptus.
I’ve read a fatwa from Mufti Ibrahim Desai about the permissibility of mutual masturbation quoting the following reference
(ردالمحتارعليالدرالمختار،ج ٤،ص ٢٧،
Is it ok to follow this fatwa?
If mutual masturbation is not permissible then during coitus interruptus (Azl) is it permissible for the wife to use her hand to make the husband climax?
Yes the quotation is correct and it’s the following reference in the chapter of what breaks a Fast
كتابالصوم – بابمايفسدالصومومالايفسده) )
ويجوز أن يستمني بيد زوجته وخادمته
“Masturbation is allowed using the wife’s hand “
However, Allam Ibn Aabideen also states in the chapter of Penal punishments
كتابالحدود – بابالوطءالذييوجبالحدوالذيلايوجبه… – فرعالاستمناء)
that there are some Scholars who said its Makrooh Tanzihi
قوله [صاحب الجوهرة] كره ) الظاهر أنها كراهة تنزيه )
“The Author of Al-Joharah said its Makrooh. Perhaps he meant Makrooh Tanzehi “
Also, some Scholars do hold the view this should not be made into a regular practice and certainly should not be used as a regular substitute for sexual intercourse.
Only Allah knows best
