Child performing Hajj on behalf of someone else

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwaa.com

My 9 year old daughter wants to perform hajj this year (2019) for herself Insha allah and next year (2020) for her deceased grandfather.

Is she allowed to perform hajj on behalf of someone else if she has not reached puberty yet?

Answer

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Yes, it will be permissible for your daughter to perform Hajj next year on behalf of her deceased grandfather.

Even though she has not reached puberty, being close to puberty (adolescent) is sufficient. (Jawahi al-Fiqh: 4/213-214)

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best
