When is it obligatory to make up missed prayers?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

when is it fard for me to make up my salaat?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

Obligatory prayers are obligatory to make up if:

(a) unperformed (whether deliberately, forgetfully, or in error)

(b) if performed but with the omission of an obligatory part of the prayer–namely, a condition (shart) or an integral (rukn).

You can find out the conditions and integrals of prayer in any basic Hanafi fiqh manual. You may well find the courses at the SunniPath Academy to be of benefit, insha’Allah.
