What to recite when awakening in the middle of the night

What is the authenticity of this narration?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The one who wakes up during the night and recites the following du’a

and thereafter says, ‘O Allah, forgive me’ or he makes any du’a, his du’a will be answered and if he makes wudu and performs Salah, his Salah will be accepted”

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration in his Sahih. The Hadith is therefore authentic.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 1154)

Transliteration:

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.

This recital is very simple. One should endeavour to memorise it and remember to recite it whenever one is awakened in the middle of the night. In some narrations outside Bukhari, the Subhanallah appears before the Alhamdulillah [like is the common sequence]. One may recite whichever sequence is easy.
