If a Muslim person dies in a western country where Christianity prevails, which of the following burial method should be followed? 1.The body of the deceased person should be brought to his/ her native country which is a Muslim country and be buried there, no matter how long the process takes. 2. It should be buried in the country where the person died in a Muslim graveyard. 3. It can be buried in a Christian graveyard provided no Muslim burial place is available in that region of that country.
The second option is better, wherever the person died even though it’s a non-Muslim country he should be buried there. But he should be buried in the Muslim Cemetery this is necessary, unless there is some valid excuse. But if someone wants to send him back to his country there, there is also room for that. But there is a lot of wasting of money in that and that money would be very useful among the heirs. That is why; we recommend the person should be buried where he died. Also, the prophet peace be upon him recommended quick burial after death.
