Can you confirm what is the sunnah after waking up.
Should we wash our hand – is this the first thing to do or should we wash it before touching any ustensil.
Answer:
Upon awakening one should rub his eyes – to remove the effects of sleep and also recite the relevant du’as.
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 183)
One is advised to wash the hands only before immersing it into any utensil after awakening.
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 162 & Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 641)
