I would like to know the examples of absorbent materials-which may be used for istijmar-and non absorbent materials which musn’t be used

Answer:

Wa ʿAlaykumus Salām Wa Raḥmatullāh wa barakātuhu,

The following are examples of absorbent materials:

  • Toilet paper
  • Cotton wool
  • Fabric

The following are examples of non-absorbent materials:

  • Aluminum foil
  • Plastic
  • Anything coated with paint
