Time Of Jumu’ah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta Azaadville

Question:

Because of covid we have 2 Jamaats on Juma day. The first Azaan is at 12.10. The 4 Sunnats are read and Khutba follows at 12.20. Zawwaal is currently at 12.13 to 12. 18 in Pietermaritzburg. In reality the Sunnats are being read at Zawwaal. Is this permissible?

Answer:

In the queried scenario, the Azhaan is called out and the Sunnat Salaah performed even before the time of Jumu’ah enters which is incorrect. The time of Jumu’ah only commences after Zawaal (according to the Hanafi Madhab) hence the Azhaan should only be called out after the time of Zawaal terminates and thereafter the Sunnah Salaah may be performed.
