QUESTION:
As Salaamu Alaikum,
Is it recommended to do qunoot in 5 daily salaats according to hanafi, due to the plague?
ANSWER:
Wa Alaikum as Salaam
On account of the present Coronavirus pandemic, it is permissible or rather encouraged to do the Qunoot Naazilah in salah to seek Allah’s help against the widespread disease. However, according to the Madhhab of Imam Abu Hanifa, it should be done in the Fajr Salah, and not in all Salah. That is, it will be done in the second rakaat of the Fardh of the Fajr Salah after Ruku is made. This should be done by the Imam.
