Is distributing drinks in a game considered gambling if it’s done to increase seriousness?

In a game, the team which loses would distribute drinks. And this is done only and only for the purpose of making all of them play seriously. Doing so will also fall in the category of gambling?

Yes. Whatever the purpose may be, the scenario mentioned here-in, do fall in the category of gambling which is Haram. However, regardless of win or loss, if a playing team or a third party takes the responsibility of distributing drinks etc, it is permissible in Sharia as well.

Allah knows best.
