I had to face an issue due to the recent death of my mother. Since her death occurred in Islamabad, I had to pray her Janaza Salat once there also and again in her ancestral village. However I was informed that, Janaza Salat could be offered only once and not twice. What is the Shar’i position in this regard?
الجواب حامدا و مصلیا
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST BENEFICENT AND THE MOST MERCIFUL
As per Shar’i rulings, Janaza Salath is offered only once and repetition of same is detestable. However if Janaza Salath is offered once in the presence of distant guardian, it could be offered again in the presence of close guardian.
Allah knows best.
