Assalamwaliekum Shaykh, I want to ask that is it halal to play tombola (Bingo) game in our home? In that game a person buys ticket for some amount decided by all and one starts calling numbers and if any one gets same number in ticket he wins prize or money. Please let us know about it. If its Halal or not because many people say if we play in home it is just for fun and Halal and jayaz. Please shed some light on this topic because many Muslims are involved in this game, I asked our Masjid imam who is mufti he said it is haraam but some people are still not satisfied with his fatwa.

What your imam Saheb has told you is right.
Any game of chance is gambling. Wherever there is win or loose scenario then that is gambling, no matter how minute the loss or gain. And gambling is prohibited.
Games where you don’t loose anything, eg filling in crosswords and sending them over, then you either win or you don’t win, but you don’t loose anything, are permitted.
The game in the homes involve money and then you either win more or loose your money is gambling.
