Did I see Prophet Muhammad (S.A.) in a dream and is it possible?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria
Assalam-o-aalikum. I had a desire since long to see Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.) and in quest of this I recited a lot of Darood (salah). Now I have seen a dream that I am going to Madina to visit the Masjid Nabvi and grave of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.). when I reached the Holy mosque I have seen a person who was lying on the ground and have a very bright beautiful face but without beard and mustaches. I was told that he is the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He shacked hand with me and inquired after my health. He also talked me more but I forgot. He (S.A.) was suffering from fever.

I want to ask if I really saw the Prophet(S.A.) in dream. If prophet may be without beard, if he(S.A.) can shake hand with a lady in dream. What this dream means (Taabir). Plz reply as soon as possible as I am very distressed.

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Let it be known that seeing Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam in dream in whatever status is undoubtedly is seeing of Nabi Sallallhu Alaihi wa Sallam himself and if Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam was seen in a beautiful shape and form, it is an indicator of the better situation of the one who has seen and, if Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam was seen in a distressed situation then it is an indicator of the pollution and weakness in the mental and religious situation of the one who has seen Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. Vision of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam is as of a mirror which reflects the situation of the looker.
Seeing Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam in dream is true but neither Shar’i ruling is established nor any Shar’i ruling is made implemented on any person by it. Therefore, doing Musafaha (Shaking Hands) of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam with a woman in a dream is not contradictory to Shar’i rulings.
Allah knows best.
