Answer

Imam Abu Dawud and others (rahimahumullah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 3888)

Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic, and Imam Dhahabi (rahimahullah) has concurred. This Hadith is also understood to have been classified sound (hasan) by Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah), as per the principle in his book, Hidayatur Ruwah.

(Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 4 pg. 219, and Hidayatur Ruwat, Hadith: 1500; Also see: Al-Kamil, vol. 3 pg. 1054, Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1 pg. 344, and Targhib wat Tarhib, Hadith: 5062)

Translation

Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) has reported: “I heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) say: ‘If any of you is suffering from anything or his brother is suffering, he should say: Our Rabb is Allah whose [Mercy/Sovereignty] in the heaven. Hallowed is Your name. Your command reigns supreme in the heaven and the earth. As Your mercy is in the heaven, make Your mercy in the earth. Forgive us for our sins and errors. You are the Rabb of the pure ones. Send down mercy from Your mercy, and remedy from Your remedy on this pain so that it heals.’”

(Refer: Mirqat, Hadith: 1555)

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
