Virtue of fulfilling the right of the wealth one acquires

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Please provide the reference for the following Hadith:

Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said, ‘One who acquires goods while keeping in mind its rights will find blessings in it, while one who acquires goods without keeping its rights in mind will be like one who eats but does not get full.”

Answer

This is part of a lengthy Hadith in Sahih Bukhari (Hadith: 2842) in which Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:

… wealth is an excellent achievement for the one who takes (his share of) wealth rightfully, (through halal means, and) by spending it in the path of Allah, and on the orphans, the needy and the travellers.

And he who doesn’t fulfill its right will be like (an animal) that eats but doesn’t get satisfied, and it will be a testimony against him on the day of Qiyamah

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
