Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) passed away in the home of ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha)

Is this authentic:

Suddenly, there was a person, he greeted. ‘May I come in?’ he asked. But Sayyidah Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha) did not allow him to enter the room. ‘I’m sorry, my father is ill,’ said Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha), turned her body back and closed the door. She went back to her father who had opened his eyes and asked Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha), ‘Who was he, my daughter?’ ‘I don’t know, my father. It was the first time for me to see him,’ Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha) said gently. Then, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) looked at his daughter with trembled look, as if he wanted to reminisce about every part of her daughter’s face. ‘Know one thing! He is who erases the temporary pleasure, he is who separates the companionship in the world. He is the Angel of Death,’ said Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha) bore the bomb of her cry. The Angel of Death came towards him, But Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked why Jibril (‘alayhis salam) did not come along with him. Then, Jibril (‘alayhis salam) was called. Jibril (‘alayhis salam) was ready in the sky to welcome the soul of Habibullah and the Leader of the Earth. ‘O Jibril, explain me about my rights in front of Allah?’ Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked with a weakest voice. ‘The doors of sky have opened, the angels are waiting for your soul. All of Jannah is open widely waiting for you,’ Jibril (‘alayhis salam) said. But, in fact, all this did not make Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) relieved, his eyes were still full of worry. ‘You are not happy to hear this news?’ asked Jibril (‘alayhis salam). Tell me about the destiny of my people in future?’ ‘Don’t worry, O Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). I heard Allah telling me: ‘I make Jannah haram for everyone, except the people of Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) who are inside it,’ Jibril (‘alayhis salam) said. It became closer and closer, the time for the Angel of Death to do his work. Slowly, Rasulullah’s (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) soul was pulled. It was seemed that the body of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was full of sweat, the nerves of his neck became tight. ‘Jibril (‘alayhis salam), how painful these pangs of death are!’ Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) uttered a groan slowly. Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha) closed her eyes, ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) sat beside her bowed deeply and Jibril (‘alayhis salam) turned his face back. ‘Am I repugnant to you that you turn your face back O Jibril (‘alayhis salam)?’ Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked the Deliverer of revelation. ‘Who is the one who could see the Habibullah in his condition of sakaratul mawt,’ Jibril (‘alayhis salam) said. Not for a while, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) uttered a groan because of unbearable pain. ‘O Allah, how great is this sakaratul mawt. Give me all these pains, don’t give it to my people. ‘The body of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) became cold, his feet and chest did not move anymore. His lips vibrated as if he wanted to say something, ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) took his ear close to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

‘Usikum bis salati, wa ma malakat aymanukum – take care of the Salah and take care the weak people among you.’

Outside the room, there were cries shouted each other, Sahabah held each other. Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha) closed her face with her hands and, again, ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) took his ear close to Rasulullah’s mouth which became blue. ‘Ummati, Ummati, Ummati’ – ‘My people, my people, my people.’ And the life of the noble man ended.

Answer

I was unable to locate this lengthy Hadith in any authentic Hadith book.

One should be cautious and abstain from quoting a Hadith (like the one in question) when the Hadith is untraceable in any original Hadith source, until its authenticity can be verified.

There are authentic Hadiths recorded in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim which state that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) passed away in the home of Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha), with his head between her neck and chest.

(Refer: Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 1389, 4438 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2443. Also see: Tabaqat Ibn Sa’d, vol. 2 pg. 201/202)

The narration in your question seems to be sourced from Shi’i sources.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
