Question:

Is covering ankles by izar lower garment is haraam? I have heared that Imam Shafi had said that keeping ankle uncovered is mustahab is this rulling is same for hanafi? If not then what must be preferable height of izaar?

Answer:

Yes, covering the ankles with the lower garment is haraam for males. The Izaar at all times must be above the ankles.
