Keeping one’s lower garment below the ankles when going to work

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I heard that our pants/trousers/shalwaar/jeans/etc. should always be above the ankles. What if I normally follow this thing but when I go to work or college and because of what people will say, for sometime I dont follow it and once I feel they are not watching me I follow it again, is it a sin?

Bismillaah

A: Don’t worry about people. Be happy and firm on deen. There is no need to be overwhelmed or afraid of people and their impressions.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
