Prayer in the Kabah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Prayer in the Kabah

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

It is permissible to read obligatory and voluntary prayers inside the Kabah. One can pray in which ever direction one wants. (Raddul Muhtar p.166 v.3)

Allah (SWA) in the Holy Quran has said:

‘And when we made the House a (sacred) resort for men and a place of peace! And made from the station of Ibrahim a place of prayer. And we gave direction to Ibrahim And Ismail. ‘Purify my house for those who are to make tawaf or stay in seclusion or bow and prostrate in prayer.” (Surah Baqarah v.125)
