Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani
Shaykh, is the Adhan performed by a young boy (one who as not reached puberty) proper and acceptable, or must one repeat the Adhan ?
Answer:
Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,
I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.
The adhan of children who have reached the age of discernment (seven years or older) is valid without being prohibitively disliked. However, it is better for an adult to give the adhan. [Fatawa Hindiyya; Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]
This is the position of the majority of Islamic scholarship, as Nawawi mentions in his Majmu` [3.108]
And Allah alone gives success.
