Asalamualaikum.
At the end of the max limit days you can have of your period (in Hanafi it’s 10 days), I know that you would have to begin ghusl at the same time that you had initially begun your period.
So if I started my period at 2pm, I would have to do ghusl at 2pm on the 10th day.
However, in my case, today I began my period, but I don’t know what time.
I was feeling pain earlier today, but I only checked around 6:15pm to check if I had started and I did. That means any time before 6:15pm I would have officially started, because that’s what the pain can indicate. I didn’t check straight away just incase it was a false alarm.
I’m having difficulty estimating when I exactly began feeling pain.
So what do I do? At the end of the max days of my period, shall I do ghusl around 6:15pm?

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahamtullahi wa barakatuhu,
Haidh only starts when you actually see the blood. Once the pain or feeling of blood is felt, you should continuously see from time to time. When the blood is seen, the Haidh commences. There is no need thereafter to assume that the blood came out earlier. For instance, you check every hour, and at 17:00 you saw no blood. If blood becomes manifest at say 17:15, but you did not get any reason to check, and only seen again at 18:00, your period will start at 18:00.
In your case, your period started at 6:15, since that is the time you saw the blood. You should work out the termination accordingly.
